The Padres open their homestand playing the Angels followed by the tough Mariners. They seem to always have hard team beating AL teams. This season they are 8-10 against them. Last season, they were swept by the Angels at Angel Stadium. In 2023, the Padres swept them at Petco Park. This year they have played well at home where they have a 14-4 record. The Angels are 7-13 on the road.

The Padres are missing the Angels ace Tyler Anderson and Mike Trout, who has not been playing well, is in the IL. Isn't he always?
On the Padres side, Merrill had the stomach bug and was given plenty of fluids. He said he was feeling better. Let's hope we see him in the lineup on Monday. Sheets has been outstanding currently batting .304 avg and went 7 for 15(.467 avg), 7 RBI, and 1 HR against the Rockies. He turned out to be a good pickup.

Top NL West Games: Dodgers(27-14) host Athletics(21-20), Giants(24-17) host Dbacks(21-20)

The Padres should take this series.
GO PADRES!

I think we can beat lefties with this line-up; not all of them, but still very competitive.  Just have to have Sheets and Cronenworth put the ball in play versus strike out.

Unbelievable!

Suarez did not have it tonight blowing his first save of the season walking  4 batters and  2 runs and then Jacob giving up the grand slam.

Still, King pitched a good game. Kudos to Nando for the HR.

Merrill's performance was awesome going 3 for 4, triple and 1 RBI and now has a .467 avg. Also, outstanding base running and with his glove making an awesome catch.

Let's take game 2 tomorrow.

Keep the faith.
GO PADRES!

2 drunk guys in my section tried to start The Wave after Suarez got the first out. I blame them.

The 9th inning was reminiscent and similar to the 9th inning in the game against the Tigers at Petco Park last year in which Suarez gave up a grand slam to give the Tigers the win.

I stayed up for that?

The 9th inning was reminiscent and similar to the 9th inning in the game against the Tigers at Petco Park last year in which Suarez gave up a grand slam to give the Tigers the win.

It happens, no reason to be worried, even though, the bullpen has received multiple runs in the last 5 games they have pitched.

This is where having a very short memory comes into play for both Suarez and Jacob.

They have been very good so far this season and I would expect them to bounce back just fine. I hate the fact that we let one get away when it just as easily should have been a win for King and a save for Suarez.

Get back on track this evening

Go Pads !!!
