Lookahead, Lake Elsinore version.

So, can we take a break from this insane trade deadline and talk about how ridiculously talented Lake Elsinore could be next season? (Yes, I realize the talent that is there this year, but I think next year has the potential to maybe even better)

Consider a pitching staff headlined by Mackenzie Gore, Luis Patino and Anderson Espinoza. Uh, good luck, opposing batters.  That's three ridiculously high upside arms. Not as deep maybe as this year's rotation, but considering the regression of Lawson and the ho-hum season put in by Avila, it's hard not to be enamored here.

Offensively? Jeisson Rosario, Esteury Ruiz and Luis Campusano are safe bets for me to be up there. Arias looks destined to repeat the MWL and Ornelas probably depends on his injury recovery timeline.  They are going to be ridiculously young again, but that is a ton of talent on the surface, with other possibilities to be thrown in, I'm sure.

There's a Storm brewing, indeed!

I'm hoping Espinoza does as well next season as Paddack has this season.

It's exciting to see our young prospects getting older and still being successful.

San Antonio is stacked in the rotation and if those guys(Paddack/Allen/Nix) all move up to start next year EP will be hard to beat.

But I'm getting ahead of the look ahead......:)

Dan (SoCal):

Thanks for the chat. Who should I be keeping an eye on for Lake Elsinore this season? Any sleepers?

Kyle Glaser: My pleasure. We saw Adrian Martinez make his way up to Lake Elsinore for the playoffs last year. That’s a very nice sleeper arm. Efrain Contreras is another pitcher some people like who should be up there as well. As far as bigger names, Tucupita Marcano will be there after getting up to Elsinore for the Cal League playoffs last year and catcher Blake Hunt should be there, too. Jeisson Rosario and Tirso Ornelas will be back repeating the league, as well. There probably won't be a top guy until CJ Abrams gets there, but it should be a solid group of good prospects.
