From today's DFR ...
Joshua Mears hit his second home run of the season, driving in a pair of runs to push Fort Wayne out to the lead in the fourth inning. Mears, the Padres’ choice with the 48th overall pick in the 2019 draft, is slashing .180/.255/.340 in 50 at-bats with 23 strikeouts as the prodigiously powerful outfielder continues to work at making consistent enough contact to make the power play.

Somehow I missed this ...
I ranked Joshua Mears number nine, but the outfielder with immense power struggled mightily with Fort Wayne, and his strikeout tendencies have caused him and the organization to give it a try on the mound.

I thought I read it wrong the first time.
Will be tuning in to see how this goes that's for sure....surprised I've never seen this stated elsewhere.

Joshua Mears, who's been on the IL all season after a leg injury in spring training, has officially begun a rehab assignment in the desert. He walked in his first trip to the plate, then stole second and came around to score on a single.
