Give me your Opening day lineup (assume RHP)

here is mine-- I see a couple of major adds so,,

1- Tatis Jr SS

2- Pham LF

3- Machado 3B

4- Hosmer 1B

5- Mejia RF (who needs to add an OF when we have in-house options-- big Arm)

*6- Contreras (if we trade)/Chirisnos (FA route/ties with Tingler and AJP) C

7-  Chronesworthy 2B

8- CLEVINGER SP (BIG TRADE)

9- Franchy (huge Winter/ST gets rewarded) CF

  • Catcher a 50/50 split with Mejia-- Mejia will get 30 or so starts in COF, mostly RF cause of arm.. 81 +30 + (DH/PH) 450-500 PA's,, Contreras/Chisnos get 400-450 mostly at C/1B...

I gave you mine now give me yours-- and yes I got rid of Myers

SS-Tatis

LF-Pham

3B-Machado

1B-Hosmer

RF-Franchy

C-Mejia

CF-Grisham

2B-Garcia

P-Paddack

Assuming RH pitcher.

Richards may get OD start.

So you think AJP and Padres offseason is DONE!?

Probably.

But even if not it would be hard to predict who he adds/subtracts.

I don't see the Indians trading Clevinger....Lindor "maybe".But Clevinger is exactly what they NEED and they could just wait until this time next season and get close to the same return.Their division is still very winnable....Why would they trade Clevinger?

The Padres really only have a few spots we could still upgrade....CF,RF,2B,C.

With TT and Grisham I don't see us adding a long term centerfielder.

The Myers contract obviously is an issue and I just don't think we can get it moved.

Unless we can pry Merrifield from the Royals I just don't see more "significant" moves being made.

I hope we DO add one more bat....preferably a middle of the order bat.

As I've been saying all along I think AJ is going into every discussion with the mindset that Gore/Patino/Abrams/Campusano are not available....and other teams are just not willing to trade difference makers without at least one involved.

Yes...i would trade Patino in a deal for Clevinger.....but again,I don;t think Clev. will move him for any package anyone is willing to give.

I will assume there will be no more significant changes that break into the opening day line-up ... so:

  1.  SS ... Tatis
  2. CF ... Grisham (L)
  3. LF ... Pham
  4. 3B ... Machado
  5. 1B ... Hosmer (L)
  6.   C ... Mejia (#)
  7. RF .. Myers
  8. 2B .. Profar (#)
  9.   P ... Paddack

Display the new toys (Grisham, Pham, Profar) who you get to be starters to the home fans and use opening day as a confidence statement for Mejia and Myers since you will need them to excel for a full season if you want a winner.

Paddack starts as a combo of the Padres best pitcher in 2019 (reward) and a fan favorite for opening day.

I love fantasy baseball but I would have Sixto Lezcano in RF instead of the best catcher in baseball and maybe slide Tito Fuentes in at 2B and Gaylord Parry on the mound throwing to Fred Kendall and then add in whoever you want to round out the opening day lineup
