2026 Wild Card Series - Chicago Cubs at San Diego Padres: Sept 29-Oct 1
Quote from ultratvfan on September 30, 2026, 10:06 pmThe Padres shut down PCA, who went 0-7, and send the Cubs home. They head to Milwaukee for the NLDS to battle the Brewers.
Despite a short outing, Pivetta was solid. The BP was outstanding.
Go Sheets!
GO PADRES!

Just getting in a game likely takes some pressure off the player and does a lot to strengthen "team".
Stammen can reset the roster for the MILW series ... I would expect Vasquez to be added and maybe a position player deactivated but been surprised on the some of the moves so far.
SP sets up well: Buehler (unless Stammen has a surprise); King; Pivetta; then a TDB; with King returning for the deciding game 5 (if necessary). Not sure how match-ups will play in but the TBD could be Ray or Vasquez.
Less stress if they just go out and win the first three!
