By my count, Chihuahua roster is 1 over the maximum active number of 28 for AAA teams.  Noted that a few roster-likely bodies on the roster were shuttled off to the ACL roster for extended ST, so expect the roster to be fairly fluid over the course of the year.  Several older arms on the pitching staff are likely going to have to show their prowess soon or be released.  I'l be watching the game on MiLB.Tv and hope we get a good performance from Bergert, who has the talent but not the consistency to fight for a spot at the bottom of the Padres rotation.

Still in the waivers protocol ... should end soon and we will see what happens to them. One report suggest Preller is trying to work a trade for Rosario ... likely for a non-roster low level upside prospect (at least that most probable scenario). My guess he was claimed by multiple teams, so Preller can make a deal with any of them.

Doubt Wade got claimed and not sure the Padres want him back ... if they do it is Wade's choice. His agent is probably making calls ... he wants to play somewhere.

As it stands right now, a good veteran cast supporting Joe, Campy and Ornelas although a couple of these guys, like Gonzalez, many have an opt out by the end of April.  If the pitching can hold the opposition to 5 runs or less, this team could make a run at the top of the division.    Expect, however, this team to change considerably over the course of the season as dictated by the needs of the Padres major league needs and the people they get back from extended spring training.  Further, a lot of potentially good arms in San Antonio that might push for a AAA spot - watch out for Bradgley Rodriguez!  By the way, NO WAY Rodriguez is only 160 pounds as listed on the SA roster.
