That Cleveland game was as exciting as they can get in the last innings.
Judge and Stanton homer late off the #1 closer in the AL to go ahead ... but wait ... last of the 9th, 2 outs, rookie Noel PH HR to tie the game and go to extra innings. 10th inning Cleveland gets a walk off HR and prevents going down 3-0 in the series.
Clase (ex-Padre farmhand) blows the save ... Naylor (ex-Padre) hits into a double play in the last of the 9th and looked like all is lost ... but Avila (ex-Padres) comes in for the 10th and holds the NYY setting up the walk off win.

The Mets rakes Flaherty for 8 runs. I am glad the Padres did not get him.

Well Dodgers fans are going to be insufferable. Can't say that they didn't earn it or that it's not a real title this time. I expected better from the Yankees. Just a sad effort.

They showed a lot of balls, something they didn't have in the last 11 years when playoff time came around, maybe it's my ego, but I somehow believe the Pads contributed, that Division Series was so intense that, mentally, it took them to another level, after that there was no looking back for them.

Given the embarrassing showing by the NYY … the rest of the AL has to wonder how they lost to the NYY during the regular season … especially those AL East contenders.

Side on NYY winter decisions … wonder if the WS showing altered their approach to building a 2025 team?
Think they may be dropping just under the CBT (even if Cole does not opt out) BUT going FA:
Soto (RF); Verdugo (LF); Torres (2B); Kahnle (RP); Holmes (RP) … plus decisions on club options on Rizzo (1B); Trevino (C); Weaver (RP).
No lock on re-signing Soto (and it will be mega money with Boras as the agent) … then not cheap to re-sign the others plus not likely to pick up Rizzo’s $17MM club option. They have the money … but do they have the will?
