Could someone post who they believe the top 5 starting pitching prospects are, and when they are expected in San Diego? Thanks in advance.

At this point agree with MLBPipeline on the top 4:

Snelling (L) … Lesko … Iriate … Mazur. Snelling and Lesko likely SP and Iriate and Mazur SP/RP (could go either way as the develop). Everyone except Lesko should be in the mix for 2025 (and maybe a late 2024 call-up). Lesko if they are lucky a year lag. Then a bit of a gap in my mind.

Sort of a toss up among Bergert (who will be in AA and has a chance for 2024 late) … Lizzaraga (a bit behind and not the same raw stuff yet … thinking more 2026) … Krob (also a bit behind and, for me, a bit of an unknown as of not … but as a LHP might seek up sooner.

So that grouping should impact the ML team in 2025-26. At that point there are a lot of unknowns (very young or injured) with some good early projections but have yet to get their careers going. Could be a surprise or two in that mix … or be a total dud.

For the longer run would like to see some of the injured have healthy runs (Lowe, Hawkins, Haynes) and a couple of the lower 2023 picks (Kemp, Dickerson).

Compared to most systems … that is a pretty good depth of arms with a shot at the ML and a few who could (should) be effective ML starters at a minimum.

What's what word on Haynes? Has he fully recovered? Is he a legit prospect at this point?

How much longer are we contracted to Fort Wayne?

Haynes will be in the AFL and his problem was with blisters (same kind of problem Gore had) and not anything to do with his shoulder, elbow or any other appendage of his body.  After missing 3 years, thought he showed very well in Lake Elsinore and if he does the same in the AFL, could start 2024 at High A.

Don't know how long we are contracted for Ft. Wayne, but it is a gem of a minor league stadium/city.  Great fan support and one of the most beautiful stadiums in the minors.  Had a chance to catch a couple of games there last year and was very impressed!

I was lucky enough to catch a game there when in town from the East Coast.

Back when Spangenberg was there...that's how long ago that was.

He and Rymer Liriano were the "big guys" in those days.
