Padres have a agreement for Panama SS/3B Reginald Preciado

 

 

In the first visit of the youth baseball team in Chiriquí, the Rod Carew Stadium in the capital city, Preciado used dark blue socks with horizontal grey stripes, and in white and large the parent logo, a S and D interlaced.

On September 16, 2017, "critique" revealed that the baseball and an organization of the West division of the National League had reached a historic agreement for a Panamanian player for at least 1.3 million dollars.

MLB Pipeline has a top 30 international players.

6.4m pool was hoping we'd hit that 75% overage mark since it still seems to be incredibly undervalued. Not in the cards with us "competing" this year. Going for quantity it would seem.

30 international prospects on MLBPipeline's list .... 30 MLB teams ... Padres favored for 4 of these kids so a pretty good ratio for the Padres (4X the implied average).

Given the quality of the Padres' international scouting team ... optimistic they are prospects with legit potential.

After 2016 massive Quality (& Quantity), but limitations of last 2 years being "Quantity" only, would expect Pads to focus more on "Quality" this year & sign fewer guys for more $.   Sounds like they are trying to....

Hopefully the Pads can get the next Tatis today... but I would be happy with someone even half as talented as the kid.

Any in particular we should be excited about?

Maybe not just the highest ranked ones?

To early to know. It will take a instructional league to see. How good they are and where they go next year?
