With Chris Paddack‘s return to the mound, Franmil Reyes‘s monster numbers and a six-game winning streak for San Antonio, it was a big week in the Padres minor league system. As always, we captured all of it in our daily farm reports.

We also broke out our first edition of our MadFriars Mailbag, answering your questions on extended spring training, Buddy Reed‘s early production, Hudson Potts and more. You can get your questions in by this Friday to be included in next week’s edition.

Here’s what else was going on:

On-Site Coverage

Not only did Travis have game coverage as Justin Lopez broke out, he also broke the news of MacKenzie Gore‘s planned return to the rotation. Kevin had game coverage from Lake Elsinore Friday.  John also had an article from El Paso for FoxSports San Diego on Brett Kennedy, one of the better, yet least known, pitchers in the system.  We’ll be on-site at three different affiliates in the coming week.

Player Profiles and Interviews

Reggie Lawson talked to Ben Davey about his new pitch and being back home in Southern California. Subscribers also got a great profile on Storm reliever David Bednar from Kevin Charity.

Media Appearances

John “A face for radio” Conniff made an appearance with Darren Smith. He followed behind Kevin Charity, who is now a regular contributor to The Mighty 1090’s Ben and Woods morning show. With Charity big-timing it, the 5.5 Podcast guys settled for an appearance by David Jay who talked about Josh Naylor‘s improved approach at the plate in Double-A.
