The Padres are riding high after winning the series over the Yankees. Now, the are facing the Nats, who took 2 of 3 from the Padres in Washington last May.
The Padres will miss the Nats two best pitchers and will have one of their own back in the rotation.
It is good to have Nick back. In his last 3 starts before being placed on the IL, he had a 1.38 ERA.

The Padres take game 1. Unfortunately the Dbacks won, too.
Pivetta was outstanding his first game back. Hart was not. Rodriguez and Morejon shut them down and Miller closed the door.
Tatis goes 3 for 4, but allowed himself to be picked off. Merrill 3 for 4 and 2 RBI and Machado goes 2 for 4 and 1 RBI.
Mize on the mound tomorrow. Let's hope he is on top of his game. Maybe Vazquez will piggy back.

Padres take game 2. Unfortunately, the Dbacks won, too. The Padres looked like they were going to lose, but came back to win.
Mize was better today.
Let's get out the brooms for the sweep. Buehler on the mound for game 3.

It seemed like we were headed for another bad loss. They were getting dominated by young inexperienced pitching for 6 innings. They got some help from the Nats to get 1 in the 7th and finally took full advantage of all of the opportunities the Nats were giving them in the 8th. It felt like a game they had to have. It could be a big win when it's all said and done.
