Kris Bryant ?

So the idea of the Cubs maybe listening to trade offers for Kris Bryant is making the rounds
The one major hole on this team is 3B.........
Any thoughts about this ?

Saw that. If they are dangling him I'd bet they are worried about the back holding up long term. Given the prospects it would cost and the health issue, just say no.

Just don't see the ammo to do it... who do we have that Cubs think wins them another World Series in next 2-3 years?

LOL....You being the one that is ready to give a 6 for 1 for a pitcher
So with everything you are willing to give up for a pitcher it's not enough for Bryant or is that after giving up the other 6 ?

Agree that SD does not have the right pieces to add Bryant (unless they offer Tatis in a package). Actually would not deal the 6 year potential of Tatis as a SS for 3 years of injured Bryant as a 3B even up.

Has to do with where the teams are relatively... Cubs are playoff /WS contenders. Mets remind me a LOT of the Chicago White Sox when they had Sale & Quintana but not much else; they traded those guys at peak value when they decided to rebuild, and went from one of very worst farms to one of the best.
I've got zero problem with 6 for 1; just matched up talent similar to the Sale trade b/c it was a good example. But If the Mets think they're contenders not rebuilding, they aren't going to go down that road, and obviously they don't make the trade.
The Cubs don't want prospects, they want their MLB team to be more likely to win another World Series after the trade. I just don't see who we offer from MLB or close (NO Tatis or Gore) that makes enough of a difference for the Cubs?

I think I’d rather have Suarez.
Age .....contract....cost...Bryant will cost more just due to his name alone.
I realize the chances of the Reds trading Suarez are slim but hey....he may be worth making them an offer they can’t refuse.

With Villanueva and Spengenberg both gone and Meyers maybe going away
Would this opening day lineup make sense ....at the right money of course....but this is also the team that burned through 13-14 million last year for Headley and Mitchell so why not

Urias - 2B
Segura - SS
Bryant - 3B
Hedges - C
Renfro-LF
Margot - CF
Reyes - RF
That looks like a major league line up to me

What would we have to give up in order to get Bryant, and then where does Tatis go when he is ready by the ASG at the latest?

Is this conversation even worth having? There is a .01% chance Kris Bryant is traded, and even in that slight chance it'd only be a contender willing to overpay that'd be able to pry him away.
