Prospect Watch: The Missions lost a tough one in San Antonio, where Jared Kollar faced both the Frisco lineup and the stifling weather (94 degrees and partly cloudy). The righty lasted four innings of two-run ball while striking out five and taking the hard luck loss. The 23-year-old first baseman continues to look like a draft steal, as the 2022 18th rounder out of Indian River State Junior College is batting .294 with a .762 OPS. … The loss pushed the Missions a half game behind Frisco and into a tie with Midland. The South Division champion of the Texas League will be decided at the end of the week.

The 22-year-old outfielder has shown a career-best .175 Isolated Power rate in 2025, though his strikeout rate has also jumped back up to 30.6% this year. He draws enough walks to go with the power that he’s producing 20% better than league average in his first pass at High-A. … Brandon Butterworth went 3-for-4 with his fifth triple of the year and scored three runs. The second baseman has seen his average drop and power production climb in each month of the season. He’s drawn only one walk in 64 plate appearances this month, limiting his June OPS to .644.

Bateman, the 6-foot-8, 19-year-old southpaw, is 5-3 with a 3.53 ERA and 54 strikeouts in 51 innings pitched on the year.
