Prospect Watch: The Nabil Crismatt comeback tour continues to hit snags as the veteran righty allowed four runs in four-plus innings of work. The former Padre owns a 5.64 ERA in 13 appearances for El Paso since returning to the organization midseason. … Jared Kollar, who has blown past his 2023 innings total and is a third of an inning off the organization lead with 118 innings pitched, encouraged with three frames of no-hit relief. The 26-year-old was making his second straight relief appearance for El Paso, where he owns a 4.89 ERA in 35 frames after posting a 3.04 mark in 18 outings for San Antonio. It’s the second straight year the righty with an over-the-top delivery has taken a while to adjust to hitters at a new level, but he showed the ability to make adjustments when he returned to Double-A to open this year. … Matthew Batten homered and showcased his versatility by starting the game in left field and finishing up at second base. The veteran of over 500 games in a Chihuahuas uniform is batting .244 with a .678 OPS in 434 at-bats in 2024. … While it appears likely Eguy Rosario will wrap up his 2024 season in El Paso, the third baseman continues to make his case for big league playing time. After going 1-for-2 with a pair of walks, Rosario owns a .913 OPS in 305 at-bats in the 2024 minor league season.

Prospect Watch: The Missions took a back-and-forth battle at Tulsa thanks to some solid relief led by David Morgan, who threw two scoreless frames. The 24-year-old righty sports a 5.06 ERA in 21 appearances since being promoted to San Antonio from Fort Wayne. The undrafted free agent’s strikeout rate has plummeted from 31.3% in the Midwest League to 20.5% with the Missions, but even with that, his underlying numbers at Double-A have been better than his ERA indicates. … Bradgley Rodriguez closed things out for the Missions with two one-hit innings, striking out five. The 20-year-old has a 2.61 ERA across 58.2 innings in a 2024 season that has seen him rise from Lake Elsinore all the way to San Antonio in his first year stateside. Texas League batters have hit just .140 against the fireballing righty. … When Joshua Mears makes contact, the ball still flies a long way. The 23-year-old outfielder easily lofted a three-run home run to left to open the scoring in this one before striking out in his final three at-bats. He has 14 home runs in 240 at-bats in the 2024 season, but has also punched out in 36% of his plate appearances. … Ripken Reyes also homered as part of a two-hit night in the leadoff spot. The 27-year-old infielder is batting .219 with a .643 OPS in 379 at-bats on the year.

Prospect Watch: Things got away from Fort Wayne quickly as Jagger Haynes struggled with his command, walking five batters and allowing six hits. The 21-year-old lefty has walked 36 batters in 61.2 innings in the second half of the 2024 season. … Dwayne Matos pitched an inning of relief, as he so often does on Thursdays, and allowed a solo home run while striking out one. The stalwart 23-year-old righty owns a 5.32 ERA in 64.1 innings of work. … Ethan Long provided the big lumber, going 2-for-4 with a home run and driving in three runs. The Arizona State product has posted an .819 OPS in 190 at-bats across three levels this season. … Tyler Robertson went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI as he continues to be one of the better stories in the Padres system. A 14th round pick in 2022, Robertson is batting .286 with a .757 OPS in 227 at-bats. The athletic outfielder has swiped 15 bases in 70 games for Fort Wayne. … Nerwilian Cedeño collected his fourth straight multi-hit game, each of which has included at least one extra-base hit. The switch-hitting infielder has hit in 11 consecutive contests, adding 50 points to his OPS in the process.

Prospect Watch: The Storm fell behind early and their offense had a rare quiet night as they lost up the road at Inland Empire. After a rough outing for Maikel Miralles, who was charged with all six runs in three innings, the relief corps gave Lake Elsinore a chance. Righty Bernard Jose threw two innings of one-hit ball. The 21-year-old Dominican righty owns a 4.82 ERA with a 46:34 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 46.2 innings across 30 games in his first season pitching stateside. … Marshall alum Zac Addkison also provided a pair of scoreless innings, striking out two batters. A 15th round pick in 2023, Addkison missed all of spring training with an injury before working back into shape in the ACL. After allowing a run in his first outing with Lake Elsinore, the 22-year-old righty has made four straight scoreless appearances. … On a night Lake Elsinore’s offense was incredibly quiet, Brendan Durfee stood out by going 1-for-3 with a walk. The 23-year-old catcher, a UC Santa Barbara alum, is batting .304 with a .939 OPS since being drafted in the 14th round of this year’s draft. … The other Storm hit belonged to second baseman B.Y. ChoiChoi, a 20th-round pick last year, is batting .245 with a .766 OPS on the year.
