Prospect Watch: After coughing up six earned runs in three innings during his season debut, Cal Quantrill posted a bounce-back performance, striking out five and allowing just three hits. … Josh Naylor’s 0-for-5 night marks his first game this season without a hit and brings his batting average with runners in scoring position down to .200. … Centerfielder Michael Gettys ended a three-game hitless streak with a groundball single in the fourth before launching his first home run of the season two innings later.  He has struck out fourteen times and walked just once in 25 at-bats.

Prospect Watch:  Despite holding a 10-3 lead entering the 7th, the Sod Poodles game went down to the wire after a bullpen implosion allowed five runs to score in the final two frames.  … Buddy Reed dominated the game with a pair of homers, including an inside-the-park homer in the sixth and a shot over the left field fence in the third.  His home run total now sits at four on the season and represents half of the hits he has collected on the season. … Jorge Oña continued his early season resurgence with a pair of hits and a walk.  On the season, he now owns an impressive .321/.424/.536 slash line; however, his 35.7 percent strikeout rate paired with a .417 BABIP strongly suggest that the 22-year-old has benefited from some good luck this season.

Prospect Watch:  In his two starts this season, Efrain Contreras, a 19-year-old righthander out of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, has struck out 12, walked five, and scattered 8 hits over 9 innings.  He spent most of the 2018 season between the Dominican Summer League and the Arizona League before making a couple of appearances in short-season ball. … With his fourth stolen base of the season, speedster Xavier Edwards has now successfully stolen 26 bases in just 27 attempts throughout 53 career minor league games.  … In another clutch moment for Luis Almanzar, he drove home a pair of runs on a groundball single in the bottom of the eighth to give the TinCaps a 5-4 lead.  The 19-year-old now has 11 RBI in six games, which is only 5 RBI shy of his total in 63 games for Fort Wayne last season.
